The Hallway
The next challenge we had was to bring up the balance of light in the hallway to reduce the contrast created with the ceiling spots. Test shots showed three areas that needed additional light added. The first was the black couch behind the subjects. To prevent the subject’s dark suit merging with the dark couch, we place a White Lightning Zap 1000 strobe light (C) to the right and halfway down the hallway. Because the space was very limited, we were only able to open the light stands legs partially and lean the light against the wall. Otherwise the light stand legs would appear in the scene.
