Again, for a good white background you need to light the white background separately from your subject and to effectively do this your subject should be no closer than 10’ from the background. If you have more room then use it. The farther the subject is from the background, the easier it is to light the background separately and not have that light effect the subject. And also note, that if your subject is standing on the background and you see their feet then that white will be grey and you will have to make it white in post production.
