This might be the most important tool you will use to earn business. Today there is a general feeling that a portfolio is not really needed because clients can go in and peruse a website. This is certainly true, but is it the most effective way to market? Many ad agencies and design firms will look at a photographer’s website and many consider it a pre-screening prior to calling in the photographer’s portfolio book. At the same time, photographers need to be proactive and line up portfolio showings. This is the time when you will sell yourself to earn business form a new client and without a portfolio book those personal meetings cant happen.
