This ad was staged to look as if it was climbers on location. If you know anything about rock climbing, it is a lifestyle sport and many climbers often live the life, sleeping in their cars or camping for months at a time. So the theme was an old car and the hatchback open to show the old car and the contents containing camp gear etc.
This shot was tough to light and be believable. I started with a light outside the car on the right and shining through the window to appear as sunlight entering the car so you could see the camp pad and climbing shoes. The climber then was holding nuts as if making a selection as to which ones to climb with.
