I was photographing a magazine story on a backcountry wilderness camp when I set up this photo after dusk. My idea was to show someone reading in the tent to illustrate the comfort of this backcountry camp. I placed my 580 with the Pocket Wizard inside the tent and on a box. I had the person sit as close to this side of the tent to almost touch it. This would result in the sharp shadow of them on the tent sides. I then tested, adjusting my f/stop until I had the proper flash exposure. I also adjusted the shutter speed for the ambient light as I went along, choosing a -1 stop ambient exposure from the cameras suggestion. This provided a dusk feel to the scene. The content you are trying to access is only available to members. Sorry.
