In 1995, I was called by Nike, letting me know that Michael Jordan was in town for a game against the Portland Trailblazers. Since MJ was Nike’s best known and sponsored athlete, they always had a full schedule lined up for him including meetings about his product lines, shaking hands with the top brass, TV interviews, and of course; a photo shoot.
I had very little notice when they called, but of course dropped all my plans to spend the next day with the Nike group and Michael Jordan, photographing throughout the day. The assignment was to document the day, not only the events, but also him wearing and modeling his latest line of apparel.
