Ad Mockups

For many of the following lessons I have created ad mockups using my photography and to also show you some techniques for shooting to layout, how to add text, and other effects, and all in PS. Throughout the course I have used tear sheets and samples that were real jobs that used my photography and the client always laid out the design. In the below image I am changing the canvas to a vertical image from horizontal. If you are creating something that must be an exact size, then this is the place to do it. I essentially doubled the size vertically and can crop it to fit nicely when done. The content you are trying to access is only available to members. Sorry.

Next I added a new layer using the add new layer icon (blue) at the bottom of the layers palette. I then click on the foreground color swatch  and up comes the color palette where I select a normal Yellow.

I then enter the text for the word cheeseburger and get straight text such as that on the left. To Warp the text you can go to the drop down menu EDIT> FREE TRANSFORM or the shortcut of CTRL-T and  you get the transform box around the text.

The Cookie Ad

This mock up ad closely resembles one running in cooking magazines and the only real difference is the type font.

Lesson 28: Page 17

The first step was to create a duplicate background layer, a move I almost always do to cover myself should I have an accident it wont be on my base layer. I can always throw away the copy layer. The content you are trying to access is only available to members. Sorry.

The background was white and so was the cookie box in the separate photo and this presented a merging issue. The top of the white cookie box and the background were the same in tonal value. The content you are trying to access is only available to members. Sorry.

Using the Move Tool, you drag the flipped box into position below the main box. The content you are trying to access is only available to members. Sorry.
